Still eating ice like its going out of style

I used to think that the constant consumption in this house of water was good. It is now starting to get on my nerves. The 4 cups per person that seem to be hanging around at the end of the day (curse mom for urging me to get more), the crunching of ice in my ear, spilt water on the front room carpet, and most of all the reason for all the consuming... the weather. Oh, will it stop!! Yes, the temps are getting lower, but so is my tolerance as my body is geared up for fall. Oh how I long for "football weather." Its the harsh reality that we live in Arizona hitting me. I really have a lot to be thankful for. We have liked our town. We have met some great people, had some great doctors, had more visitors than we ever had in Provo, enjoyed our home. That is about all I can list because I am thirsty. Isaiah has had new friends over for the past couple of days. Its been hard to let him play on his own with his friends .. without Mason. It is hard on Mason too, so I try to distract him ... with water. Though I know that Isaiah has to establish his own little world with out his brother sometimes, I hope that they will always be the best of friends. Ruby is going to be a nut for her brothers, she watches them so intently. Anyway that is our update, we are keeping busy with pre-school, work, scouts, play groups, trips to town and general play and know its mostly the same with everyone else.

Piacitelli Family Blog

I'm only blogging out of discipline this week. Not much to report. Well, beyond a good game played by BYU and the glorious discovery that a dilligent fan can listen to the game on KBYU.com and it's as clear as a bell. So, for the second Saturday in a row, I donned the BYU shirt and represented. I know I'm not alone.

I prepping for another stretch of glorious weekend traveling. This weekend: to University of Indiana for a site leader retreat. I'm looking forward to it - this alternative break program is run out of Indiana's Business school. Really sharp students, I've been assured.

I am, however, getting my dog at the beginning of October. I think some cute stories, perhaps highlighting my maternal inclinations, will flow. I'm going to see if I have a picture and I'll post.

Piacitelli Family Blog

Word Jeff! The BYU game, with your presence, was almost a family event! With the Guymons in attendance and the game on TBS, maybe even Matt watched. I thought the game was painful. Not because of the loss, but because of the utter lack of risk and creativity on BYU's end. Good defense though. My roommates are FSU grads, so it was good to watch the FSU/Miami game (and my distaste for Miami still lingers from the Ty Detmer years) and see a well played close game. FSU won.

So, I'm a little behind on my pledge to do a weekly entry. Labor Day can set a girl back. Also, not a whole lot happening can set a writer into block. But, what is blogging if not largely an attempt to capture the nuances of life?

I'm sitting on the apartment porch right now. I live in a gated apartment community. Seems like a whole lot in Atlanta is gated, but I also understand that we live in a pretty well-off area. We are really close to the Home Depot headquarters, but also sort of a suburb. So, I think a lot of young professionals are settling here. I wouldn't know yet though. Not a whole lot of investment going into a social life. I think I may have completely forgotten how to do that.

Weather is nice right now, but the humidity continues to astonish me. Fortunately, fall is coming and I think that is the real glory time in the south. Not like Vermont, with it's color, but a cool green feel. Visitors welcome. There are two pools and a weight room. And a place to spray down your car and vacuume it out.

I intend on actually trying to have adventures over the next couple of weeks - maybe one a week that I can blog about. That's about all this old woman can muster. And some sweet love for her far away family members.

Oh - our little social movmement we've got going here has been noticed by MTV and United Way. It's exciting and feels like a good responsiblity to explore the potential partnership as Break Away keeps trying to do what it does well. Here's the link: MTV Alternative Spring Break

In short...

I watched the last half of the BYU/ASU football game on Saturday night too. Good job to BYU for a game well played(but lost in the end- sorry). I also watched with a friend most of the Tennessee game too- Cal was stomped on thanks in part to the efforts of a certain QB Ainge...
