Real Life Florida Adventure

Well bumpety, bump, bump, bump. I do think that the picture of Mason was intimidating to write on top of, so thank you Nanci for breaking that barrier. I was also waiting upon myself to download some pictures, and I finally did it. But, let this in no way set a standard - blogs without pictures (see below) can be just as well regarded and gripping as those with pictures.
So, I thought I would add a few photos from a fun Monday that I had off after another long travel weekend. Wendy and Shane Brothers, friends from Vermont, came down for a Florida vacation and enlisted my participation in one day of it all. But what a day... as you can see, it was a beautiful day on the Santa Fe River - about an hour south of Tallahassee. I had a kayak and they a canoe, and we went for a 7 mile paddle down a river that was packed with jumping fish, turtles sunning themselves, dragonflies, and yes - a real live alligator. What a great picture. There is also a story and picture about the nudist that we met along the way (he covered up for the ladies), but the picture is still a bit scary) that I will choose to keep out of this blog. Very fun day, and made me wish Dad was back here so I could actually show him a good time.
Though we did have a good time, as evidenced by the picture with Andrea and kids. He came with me on a midnight ride to Atlanta for an early business meeting and then the quick drive back. He then coached me the next morning in the pool, helped make breakfast, went to an IMAX movie about travelling to the moon, and then to FSU's alternative break banquet. He's a believer now, and knows that his donation is going to a good cause - though Break Away is cold shouldered by the Better Business Bureau - we did make it into the Wall Street Journal that same weekend and got bumped by CBS. Next year, next year.
So, things are finally slowing down a bit and travel is looking more scarce. I'm very excited for the little reunion planned in St. George. It will be wonderful to see everybody and I'm really excited to be on the scene when Ruby is still fresh and Nanci is still sore.
With this blog, I renew my commitment to be writing weekly. Life is full of fun details; at least it seems that way when we share them with people who love us. I can't get enough! Keep writing Nanci and Clint and Jeff, and keep lurking Matt and Becki and Mom. Isn't that how it always is...
