Bumping Jeff's Important and Well Written Blog

I'm sorry to do it, but I guess I'm bumping Jeff's geneological blog entry. It's a well written and exciting one, with real substance. I'm telling you, you aren't going to be getting that from me in this here entry. So skip it. I wouldn't be writing, except I swore to do it as my Family Home Evening activity. So, I am sitting here hurrying to squeeze some news in before my computer battery dies.

I've been called to work with the Young Women's in my ward. This is a first for me, thought I suppose being a seminary teacher in my last ward counted as "working with the youth". This was last week, and I have since attended an activity where we made our own Mormon Ad posters (the entry from my table: "Modesty: Keep it Under Cover" submitted by my a mix of Beehives, a Laurel, and a Deacon who drew the spy like motif) and I taught on Sunday. It was a tricky lesson, as it was largely focused on the roles of wife and mother. I feel about as distant from those roles and I hope these young women do at this point. I was a bit intimidated by the content, but learned some interesting things. One area of particular interest to me (i.e. I thought about it more in sacrament meeting) was how easy it is in a competitive world to really understand complimentary relationships - that seperate can still be equal. This can be tricky, and I think the influence of the outside world easily trickles into the our attitudes about gospel principles, but there is nowhere that this idea is taught better than in the gospel.

Other news: Break Away got a little bit of ink in USA Today and my name was attached to it. This served to secure one donor: dad. I'm moving into the mansion at the end of this week - beginning of next. I get to see Matt and Andy and the kids this weekend down in Tampa. I'm excited about that. Torah Bright, aforementioned snowboarder, took 5th in the Olympics. Cammi Granato was vindicated, in a sort of twisted way, by the US Women's Hockey Team's 3rd place finish. Bode Miller and others have had to eat a little bit of humble pie. Oh Olympics, you enchant me.

Hi Mom,

"Bumped" is techno speak for putting an entry above so that you have to scroll down to see the next entry. No offense was meant by my agressive move - that's what I was trying to convey. Good job on finding your password!
